The rules of the road for using Duitful. Written plainly, because hiding terms behind legalese is not how we want to run this.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("you", "your") and Duitful ("Duitful", "we", "us", "our"), the independent developer based in Malaysia that operates the Duitful service.
By installing, launching, or using Duitful — the website at duitful.app, the web app at duitful.app/app, or the native app for iOS and Android — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Duitful is a personal finance tracker designed to run primarily on your own device. It helps you record income, expenses, debts, savings, and related details. Features that require a paid licence are marked Pro; everything else is free to use without an account or registration.
The service is provided on an ongoing "as available" basis. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or fit for any particular commercial purpose. Duitful is a tool, not a licensed financial advisor; nothing in the app is financial advice.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Duitful on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
Pro is sold as a one-time purchase, currently priced at RM 19.90 (Malaysian Ringgit). There is no subscription, no recurring fee, and no auto-renewal. Paying once unlocks the current Pro features and all future Pro features on the platform you purchased on.
You can buy Pro through any of the following channels:
Prices include any applicable taxes. We may change the price from time to time, but the change will never retroactively affect licences you already own.
Your Pro licence is a cryptographically signed token. It's delivered to you by email after a successful web purchase, or unlocked automatically by the app store after a successful in-app purchase. The token is tied to the purchase, not to a specific device — you can use it on any device you own, as long as you are the buyer.
If you bought Pro through the web checkout and you've lost the licence email — for example because you switched devices, changed your email provider, or the receipt went to spam and was auto-deleted — we can reissue your licence.
Email hello@duitful.app with your Billplz transaction ID (it looks like a short alphanumeric string and appears in your Billplz receipt and in any bank-statement line referencing Billplz). We will verify the transaction against our records and reissue your Pro licence to the same email address, free of charge.
If you bought Pro through the App Store or Google Play, the store keeps your purchase history on your account — restore it using the "Restore purchases" button inside the app on the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy.
Because Duitful Pro is a digital product delivered instantly, Malaysian law does not require us to offer a cooling-off period. That said, we believe in fairness, so we offer a goodwill refund on web purchases if you contact us within 3 days of the purchase date and explain why Pro didn't work out for you.
To request a refund:
We reserve the right to decline refunds on accounts that show signs of abuse — for example, repeated refunds from the same buyer, purchases made with invalid or stolen payment details, or licences that have been widely shared. In genuine cases we'll always err on the side of refunding.
Refunds are issued back through Billplz to the original payment method. Typical arrival time is 3–10 business days depending on your bank.
Refunds for purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy. Refunds for purchases made through Google Play are handled by Google under Google's refund policy. We cannot issue refunds for those purchases directly, because we never receive the money — the stores do. If Apple or Google approves a refund, the corresponding Pro benefit is automatically removed from your account.
Duitful stores your financial records on your device, encrypted with a key derived from your passcode. We do not have a copy of your passcode, your key, or your data. See the Privacy policy for full detail.
This means:
Your Pro licence can always be recovered (see section 5). Your data cannot.
Please use Duitful for its intended purpose — tracking your own finances. Specifically, do not:
We may suspend or revoke your Pro licence if we have reasonable grounds to believe you've violated this section, and we will refuse service to anyone who does so.
The Duitful name, logo, website, app interface, source code, marketing copy, and other materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Buying Pro grants you a licence to use the app, not ownership of it. You retain full ownership of every piece of financial data you enter — that's yours, not ours.
Duitful uses a small number of third-party services to operate (Billplz for payments, Apple and Google for in-app purchases and app distribution, Resend for transactional email, Cloudflare for inbound email forwarding, Vercel and GitHub Pages for hosting, Google Fonts for typography). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply when you interact with them. The Privacy policy lists each one in detail.
Duitful is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that any data computed by the app (such as avalanche payoff schedules or currency conversions) will be free of rounding errors or suitable as a substitute for professional financial advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose. In no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of business opportunity, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
You may stop using Duitful at any time by uninstalling the app. Your on-device data is yours to delete or keep.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service, including revoking a Pro licence, if you materially breach these Terms or use the service in a way that exposes us or other users to legal or security risk. If we do that, we will tell you why, and — where the breach was inadvertent and reversible — we will give you a reasonable chance to fix it first.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top and add an entry to the changelog. Material changes will be summarised there. Continuing to use Duitful after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree with a change, your remedy is to stop using the service and, where applicable, request a refund under section 6.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service will be resolved in the courts of Malaysia, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
